A Blitz customer spotted one of our distinctive stainless steel sounders on an episode of Amazon’s series about teenage spy – Alex Rider, and kindly sent us a still.
A trip to YouTube turned up a trailer showing a still picture of the eponymous hero standing in front of gates and a garage with our splendid Rapier sounder on it. Playing the trailer also showed the street, but at first we couldn’t place the location or the customer. But after a bit of detective work by Mike Hutton, looking at the buildings in the background on the aerial shot, and digging through our database to find customers in that area, Mike came up with the location in Bermondsey. It turns out that the programme makers were using the house opposite our customer as Alex Rider’s home.
On the subject of the programme itself, I’ve watched the first 2 episodes over the last 2 nights and actually it’s pretty good. It might be aimed primarily at a younger audience but its exciting stuff and well made – well most Amazon stuff is.
